Connect Google Analytics
Send your AI assistant's engagement data to Google Analytics 4 (GA4) so you can measure how visitors interact with the assistant alongside the rest of your site traffic. This article shows you how to connect your GA4 property and choose which chat events to track.
Before you start
You'll need the Measurement ID for the GA4 data stream you want to send data to. A Measurement ID looks like G-QPD2MX5E3C (a G- prefix followed by ten or more letters and numbers). If you're not sure where to find yours, see Google's guide on finding your measurement ID.
Connect your account
Go to the Integrations page.
Find the Google Analytics tile and click VerifyConnect.

Choose which chat events to send to GA4 by selecting one or more of the checkboxes:
- On Engagement — fires when a visitor first interacts with your AI assistant. Sent as the
page_viewevent, once per session. - On Response — fires every time a user sends a message or responds to the AI. Sent as the
user_responseevent, multiple times per session. - On Redirect — fires when a user clicks a product or recommendation in the chat. Sent as the
product_clickevent, each time a redirect occurs.
- On Engagement — fires when a visitor first interacts with your AI assistant. Sent as the
Click Save.
You'll see a confirmation that Google Analytics was connected successfully, and your selected events will start flowing into your GA4 property.
Tips
- The Save button stays disabled until you've entered a valid Measurement ID and selected at least one event. If you can't save, check that both are done.
- You can reopen this window at any time to update your Measurement ID or change which events you send. Click VerifyManage on the Google Analytics tile, then Save your changes.
- These events can also be configured per chat, so individual assistants can send different events. Verifythe exact location of the per-chat Google Analytics settings
What to do if events aren't showing up
- Double-check that the Measurement ID matches the data stream you're viewing in GA4.
- Confirm you selected at least one event before saving.
- Newly sent events can take a short time to appear in your GA4 reports.
