Getting Started with VWAM ​

Welcome to VWAM, the AI commerce suite. This guide walks you through creating your account, verifying your email, and setting up your first Shopping Assistant — whether you're signing up on your own or joining a team you were invited to.

There are two ways to get started:

  • Sign up on your own — you're creating a brand-new account and organization.
  • Join a team you were invited to — a teammate sent you an invitation link.

Pick the path that matches your situation below.

Path 1: Sign up on your own ​

Step 1 — Create your account ​

  1. Go to the sign-up page. You'll see a screen titled Get started. Screenshotthe "Get started" sign-up form with the Name, Company, Email, and Password fields

  2. Fill in the form:

    • Name — your full name.
    • Company — your company or organization name.
    • Email — the email address you'll sign in with.
    • Password — at least 8 characters, including one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. Use the eye icon in the password field to show or hide what you've typed.

  3. If your workspace offers it, you can instead click Sign up with Google at the top of the form to create your account with your Google login. VerifySign up with Google button — only appears when Google sign-in is enabled

  4. Click Create Account.

By signing up, you agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy linked below the button.

If you see "Looks like you already have an account." — an account already exists for that email. Use the Log in link to sign in, or Reset password if you've forgotten it.

Step 2 — Verify your email ​

After signing up, VWAM sends a verification email to the address you entered. Open that email and click the verification link.

  • When the link is confirmed, you'll see Email Verified Successfully! along with a welcome message. Click Continue to Login to sign in. Screenshotthe "Email Verified Successfully!" confirmation screen
  • If the link has expired or doesn't work — you'll see a message explaining the link is expired or invalid. Enter your email in the Enter your email to resend verification field and click Resend Email, then check your inbox for a fresh link. You can also click Go to Login if your email was already verified.
  • Want to use a different email address? Use the Create new account link at the bottom of that screen.

Once your email is verified and you log in, continue to Set up your first assistant below.

Path 2: Join a team you were invited to ​

If a teammate invited you, you'll receive an email with an invitation link. Click it to open the Team Invitation screen. Screenshotthe "Team Invitation" screen while the invitation is being processed

VWAM processes your invitation automatically and shows one of these results:

  • Welcome to the Team! — your invitation was accepted and you already have an account. Click Go to Dashboard to start.
  • Complete Your Registration — you need to create an account first. Click Create Account to set up your login (your invitation is accepted automatically once you finish). If you already have a VWAM account, click I Have Account to sign in instead. Verify"I Have Account" button

Complete your account as an invited teammate ​

If you clicked Create Account from the invitation, you'll land on a screen titled Complete Your Invitation with a banner confirming which organization you're joining. Screenshotthe "Complete Your Invitation" form with the locked Organization and Email fields

  1. The Organization and Email fields are pre-filled from your invitation and can't be changed — you'll see "Joining [your organization]" under the organization field and "Pre-filled from your invitation" under the email field.
  2. Enter your Name and choose a Password (at least 8 characters, with one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number).
  3. Click Accept Invitation & Create Account.

You'll be signed in and joined to the team.

Invitation links are single-use and time-limited. Depending on what's wrong, you may see one of these messages:

  • Invitation Link Expired / Invitation Expired — the link timed out. Ask your team administrator to send a new invitation.
  • Invalid Invitation Link / Invalid Invitation — the link is invalid or was already used. Request a new one from your administrator.
  • Invitation Already Used — the invitation was already accepted. If it was for you, use Go to Login to sign in directly. Verify"Invitation Already Used" title
  • Invitation Cancelled — the invitation was cancelled. Ask your administrator to send a new one. Verify"Invitation Cancelled" title

From most of these screens you can use Create Account to start a fresh sign-up or Go to Login if you already have an account. Need a hand? Use the Contact Team Admin or Support links on the Team Invitation screen.

Set up your first assistant ​

The first time you sign in, VWAM guides you through a short three-step setup. A progress indicator at the bottom shows where you are, and you can click Skip on any step or Next to move forward. Step 1 — Brand & Goal ​

On the Brand & Goal step, tell VWAM about your brand:

  1. Enter your Website address (the "https://" prefix is added for you).
  2. Click Scan so VWAM can learn about your brand. Once it finishes, the button changes to Re-scan if you want to run it again.
  3. In the Objective box, describe what you want your assistant to help shoppers do.
  4. Click Next to continue.

Step 2 — Add knowledge sources ​

On the Add knowledge sources step, give your assistant material to answer questions accurately — FAQs, policies, guides, and more. There are two tabs:

  • Documents — click Upload to add a file (PDF, CSV, or TXT). Each file must be under 5MB.
  • Websites — type a web address and click Add to include a page or section. The "https://" prefix is added for you.

Added sources appear in a list where you can turn each one on or off, refresh it, or remove it. Click Next when you're done.

Step 3 — Add your products ​

On the Add your products step, choose how to bring in your catalog. Click a card to select it, then follow its prompt:

  • Scan Website — enter your Store URL and click Connect to crawl your storefront and import products automatically.
  • Connect Shopify store — enter your Shop domain and click Connect Shopify. VWAM opens the Shopify App Store so you can install the app; after approval, Shopify brings you back here.
  • Upload Product Feed — click Upload CSV to add a CSV feed. Use the download button next to it to grab a template that shows the expected format.

When you're finished, click Finish to open your assistant in the editor and start refining it.

Tip: You can skip any onboarding step and come back to it later. If you skip setting up your brand, you'll go straight to adding products, and you can configure everything from the editor afterward.
